The Wizard of Oz will be presented at The Sphere in Las Vegas, Nevada on Sunday, June 28th, 2026. Access to the show will begin at 1:15pm with the show starting at 2:00pm and running for 75 minutes.
There are classic films and then there are films that have become a part of our collective cultural heritage. The 1939 film version of The Wizard of Oz is one of those movies. This iconic film won two Academy Awards for Best Original Score and for Best Original Song for the unforgettable “Over the Rainbow” as sung by Judy Garland. This ground breaking production will revisit and enhance the original scenes and seamlessly move from one to another with the vast scenes displayed on the Sphere’s incredible 160,000 square foot 16K 360-degree LED display.
The Wizard of Oz Sphere Experience was created in collaboration with Warner Bros. from the original film and will feature the original score remastered to create a pristine film sound experience mixed with the live orchestral elements performed during the show. The classic score of The Wizard of Oz, written for the 1939 film by Harold Arlen and E.Y. Harburg, combines with the sound quality of The Sphere to deliver the cleanest and most powerful experience of the score. The experience is created by producer Jane Rosenthal, Ben Grossmann, a renowned artist in the field of visual effects and award-winning film editor Jennifer Lame.
The production will also include a reimagined version of the famous Radio City Music Hall pre-show illusion that launched the original version of The Wizard of Oz in 1939. Actress Lorna Luft, daughter of Judy Garland, recently attended a special screening of The Wizard of Oz Sphere Experience and was visibly moved by her experience returning to the classic film that made her mother a legendary performer. This is a show that will transport both classic audiences and children of all ages to a world that has been magically and wondrously re-imagined in this groundbreaking medium.
