For an interesting piece of trivia – when The Wizard of Oz was first released in 1939 it earned the film 6 Academy Award Nominations in 1940. 2 of those awards were for Best Original Score and for Best Original Song “Over the Rainbow”. The film has received high ratings from cinema fans in polls conducted over the last 80 or so years and is still ranked among the greatest films ever made.
Entertainment venue Sphere in Las Vegas is where The Wizard of Oz - riveting Film Experience is taking place on Tuesday 7th July 2026. A 16K resolution LED screen is used for the world’s most advanced live show presentation technology. Every chair is premium quality so you have the best seat in the house. The Screen at Sphere is the largest single frame of a screen for a live show in the world, at 16K resolution covering the entire room. It has a capacity for 18,600 guests.
Note: The venue Sphere is a relatively new building. As such there is no parking lot at this venue. However there are many public parking lots and garages all over Las Vegas. All of the parking lots and garages are within walking distance to the venue.
