An outstanding entertainment experience. The Wizard of Oz Screening Experience will be screened at The Sphere in Las Vegas on Sunday, 14th June 2026. A classic film from 1939 has been transformed into this extraordinary entertainment experience. The Sphere is an immersive technology venue in Las Vegas and all 160,000 square feet of the LED screen will be used to bring this beloved classic to life. In addition to the screen, the production will incorporate The Sphere’s ‘Tactile’ seating and ‘Spatial’ audio to create the sensation that the audience are in the center of the action. The crowd will feel as though they have been transported to Munchkinland as Dorothy’s tornado whirls by from their seat.
How are they going to project the Wonderful World of Oz shot in the 1930s for a minuscule format onto all of these massive screens? This groundbreaking performance brings The Classic 1939 movie to life re-released in an all immersive performance surrounding the audience as Dorothy and Toto and the new friends Scarecrow, Tin Man and Cowardly Lion make their way down the Yellow Brick Road in incredible fashion bringing all the scenes to life around the audience as the famous songs “Over the Rainbow,” “Ding-Dong! The Witch is Dead” and “We’re Off to See the Wizard” come to life on the big screen in crystal clear audio.
The Wizard of Oz is one of the scariest films of all time and it won two Academy Awards for Best Original Score and Best Original Song for the classic “Over the Rainbow” sung by Judy Garland. The classic film has been scaring and entertaining audiences for over 85 years – its most iconic feature being the transition from the black and white of Kansas to the colorful Land of Oz created with the innovative use of Technicolor. A whole host of artistic innovations are also apparent within The Wizard of Oz, including the change from a dull, dark, and dirty black and white movie of the main characters in Kansas to a full color movie of the wonderful world of Oz, created using the newly developed Technicolor process.
